Named after the region in which it is grown, this full-bodied black tea is as rich colour as it is in flavour. Large leaf describes the larger pieces of tea leaf in the blend, which is made in an orthodox method. This pack contains 10g of Assam large leaf tea, in which only the best Assam leaves are used.
A tradition full-bodied black tea, Assam has a brisk, malty flavour and a strong aroma. The large leaf blend has an even richer, more malty taste.
Black tea contains polyphenols, a type of antioxidant. Caffeine and an amino acid called L-theanine are also found in black tea, which is said can improve alertness and focus – even more than coffee!
Get your day off to a great start by enjoying a cup of this tea with your breakfast.

100% Black tea
Black tea is best made with water brought to a full boil and used immediately for the tea to release its full flavour (if you're using a teapot remember to warm the pot first). Use one teaspoon of loose-leaf tea per person.
Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes. If you like your tea strong add more tea, don't steep for longer as this will turn the flavours bitter.
Drink with milk, with lemon or on its own.
Wholemeal toast or breakfast pastries with butter and jam, washed down with a cup of Assam tea – no better way to start the day!
Make sure you store your tea in an airtight container – a tin is better than plastic, or seal up the packaging it arrives in. Although tea feels dry, it contains 3% moisture and oils that are essential to its flavour. If not properly stored these can evaporate. Keep your tea in a fairly cool, dry place, which is out of sunlight and try to keep away from any spices that could taint the flavour.
Large leaf Assam keeps a little longer than Assam.
